Close Board Fences

Close board fencing is broken up into three different grades A, B and C.  Every fence is built using the same quality timber, however, some are built using less material. For more information please see the specification for each grade below.

Grade A

100x100mm treated timber posts would be placed in the ground approximately 1.8 meters from centre post to centre post. The base of each post would then be coated with a layer of bitumen paint to help prevent rot and then firmly held in position using Post Crete. Once set the 3.6 meter long, horizontal counter rails would be placed and firmly held to the posts using screws - staggering them to make the whole structure ridged. Next the gravel boards would be fixed to the base of each post. The feather-cladding would then be attached the counter-rails, overlapping them by approximately 25mm. Finally the fence would be finished off with timber capping.

Grade B

100x100mm treated timber posts would be placed in the ground approximately 1.8 meters form centre post apart. The posts would then be held firmly in position using Post Crete. Once set the 3.6 meter long, horizontal counter-rails would be placed and firmly held to the posts using screws. Next the gravel boards would be fixed to the base of each post. Panel Fencing is broken up into two different grades, A and B. The two grades of fencing are constructed using different, standard fence panels and posts. All timber products provided are pressure or dip treated for longevity. For more information, please see the specification for each grade of fence below.
